Millennia Wood classifies their fine-grained wood as Ancient Growth. Most of the exceptional examples of Millennia Wood products include wood from trees that are up to 1,000 years old, a time period that spans a substantial portion of written human history.

This cross section of an ancient growth Western Red Cedar contains growth rings that span at least 1000 years.

The science of Dendrochronology utilizes microscopic examination of these growth rings which provides a substantial amount of information about environmental conditions and other  information about each of the years in which the growth rings were formed.
